Biography
I was born and raised in Iran, where I graduated with a health
science degree from Tabriz University. In late 1979, I came to the
United States to continue my education and to embrace the American
ideal of freedom of speech.
After obtaining a RN license I worked in an ICU setting in major metropolitan hospitals. At the same time, I returned to school and earned MA in counseling psychology and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from The Union Institute.
I’m a licensed psychologist in the State of California, I hold
a certified in: an alcohol and drug counseling, a clinical
hypnotherapy,
and a Neuro Linguistic Programming.
I personally had to overcome many challenges in my life. In my culture for being a woman and in this country for my national of origin! I believe my world view,
education, and experience of being “a woman of two
cultures” has given me the skills, insight and judgment to objectivity evaluate the challenges facing us today, and to be
able to offer an appropriate approach or a solution for each individual, group and institution.
I am very interested in
helping people to integrate their wholeness and advance their
experiences. My goal in life has been to help people to honor their
own potential − which is very difficult to do when you are suffering
emotionally or physically. I also believe we are each responsible
for our own destiny. We make our own lives, learning form the base
of our own experiences.
